March iPhone Wallpapers {Free Download!}

Hey y'all!

Just popping in quickly to let you know that the March iPhone wallpapers are available for download (a freebie for y'all!). I decided to have some fun with this design and go with a color-blocked abstract design. It's got a fresh, springy feel, and I think that reflects the fact that I'm hoping spring is right around the corner! The weather here in Philly is slowly starting to warm up, and I even saw some crocuses popping up on in our neighborhood.

Both a calendar version and a blank version are available for download. Click the links to go to the Dropbox site and you can download them directly from there. Enjoy!

February 2016 Desktop & iPhone Wallpapers

Welcome to the first installment of my 2016 iPhone and desktop wallpapers! Yep, I missed January (oops). It was fun to get back in the swing of graphic designing with these guys. I didn't realize how much I had missed it!

This month, I've got three renditions of the design - they've got the same background, but there's a calendar option, a quote option and a blank option. So many options!

For these wallpapers, my inspiration came from a little escape I went on with my husband to a tiny island in the Bahamas for a few days. Our last night there, we witnessed the most beautiful sunset as we sat out on a pier sipping our final fruity cocktails for the week. I couldn't get over the "golden hour" light that spread out all over the calm waters. I wanted to freeze time and have it stay like that forever. Of course, I couldn't do that, so I snapped a photo instead.

Peaceful, isn't it?

For the wallpapers, I snagged a little corner of that photo and turned it into the wallpapers you'll see below.

The calendar and blank ones are pretty self-explanatory, but the one with the quote from C.S. Lewis might be my favorite of the bunch.
"There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind." - C.S. Lewis
To download the one (or ones) you'd like for your phone or desktop, click the link below the image. It will take you to a Dropbox file where you can download it directly. As always, these are free - no strings attached. Enjoy!

December 2015 iPhone + Desktop Wallpapers

Happy December y'all! With Thanksgiving behind us, Christmas season is officially in full swing. I love this time of year, even if it tends to be one of the busiest of the year. I love the lights, the Christmas trees (what beats the smell of pine right now?!), decorating, the coziness and all the social gatherings. What I really love though, is the season leading up to Christmas - Advent. For me, it's more than just enjoying the glitz and glamor of the season, it's the anticipation of celebrating the birth of Jesus and the hope that he will one day return to fix the brokenness of this world.

With that in mind, in addition to the normal calendar wallpapers I made for the month of December, I created a wallpaper with a line that's been stuck in my head from one of my favorite Christmas hymns - O Holy Night. The line says, "A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices," which sums up how I think about Christmas. I already have that wallpaper on my iPhone's lock screen :).

The calendar option is also a fun one: the Christmas lights in silver and gold might be one of my favorite designs for these calendars.

Each of these wallpapers is also available in a desktop version:

You can download any (or all!) of these freebies by clicking the links below each wallpaper. They will take you to Dropbox and you can grab them there.

I hope you are all enjoying this season so far however you like to celebrate it! We just got our tree up last night and I'm excited to decorate it over the next few days. We picked a fresh Frasier fir from our local hardware store down the street and brought it home on foot. Perhaps carrying it on foot will be a new tradition in this house? Ha!

October 2015 iPhone Wallpapers

Happy October, y'all! I know the posting's been a little quiet over here, but that's because a lot's going behind the scenes with the new biz and other life happenings. I hope to share more soon! In the meantime, I did manage to pull together the iPhone wallpapers for this month.

Halloween isn't my favorite holiday by any stretch of the imagination, but I think these wallpapers give a nod to that day - they're a bit spooky and spiderweb-y, don't you think? There are two color ways - black + white and gray + white - and you can download them with or without the calendars.

Enjoy!

September 2015 iPhone + Desktop Wallpapers

Happy Monday and happy last day of August, y'all! This month has been ca-razy busy with vacation, e-design biz stuff and other life happenings, so I am looking forward to turning the page on the calendar to a new month with a fresh start.

To kick things off for the month of September, I've got a new set of iPhone and desktop wallpapers to share with you. These are free downloads (as always) - you can grab the version you'd like below.

This month, my inspiration came from this beautiful ironwork detail I spotted on a balcony not far from where we live in Philadelphia. They just don't make buildings with this kind of detail anymore, do they?!

I snapped the photo above with my iPhone so I wouldn't forget what it looked like. I just had this feeling I'd want to design something with it in mind and it looks like that feeling was right! I'm a big believer that inspiration for creativity can truly come from anywhere.

From that ironwork came this month's "bubbly circles" design. I had fun playing around with the color palettes and decided on the two different muted colorways you can see below. There are versions with September calendars (my favorite for quick reference on my phone's lock screen) and blank ones depending on your preference. Click the link below each image to download it from Dropbox.

Enjoy!

August 2015 iPhone + Desktop Wallpapers

Hello friends! It's almost a new month, which means it's time to refresh those wallpapers on your iPhones or desktops. I've really loved changing up my lock screen wallpaper and I hope you have too!

Offering these wallpapers to y'all each month gives me an excuse to sit down with a blank page in Illustrator and try to create something fun, pretty and unique. I've found it takes an equal measure of discipline and time/space to be creative. I try to give myself a few days to come up with the design(s) and let them evolve organically. The final version usually ends up being something very different from the original - that's what's so fun about making these! #thoughtsoftheday :)

For you other creatives out there, how does your process work when you sit down to do your craft?

This month I was inspired by this gorgeous bedroom I came across on Emily A. Clark's blog. Those gold circles stopped me in my tracks and I had a BINGO! moment. They were perfect for this month's wallpapers. That goes to show that inspiration can truly come from anywhere!

Now onto the fun stuff - the freebies! "Gold Circles" comes in aqua and rose. Click the link(s) below each wallpaper to download your favorite. It'll take you to Dropbox to grab the image. Note that there are both blank and calendar versions of each, so make sure you select the right one!

July 2015 iPhone + Desktop Wallpapers {Free Download}

I feel like I say this every month, but man, June flew by! Maybe it's partly because we were living in two different places this month and had friends or family visiting every weekend? Earlier this week I realized that July was sneaking up quickly, so I knew it was time I share some new wallpapers with y'all. Next week is a big vacation week for many, so if that's you, go ahead and grab these downloads before you head out!

I love using these wallpapers as an excuse to get creative with my design skills and so each month's looks quite different from the last. This month I was inspired by a rug I spotted in a bold pattern with stripes going all different directions. I had a lot of fun coming up with these asymmetric stripes and decided on a whim to make some of them GOLD. How fun is that? I think these might be some of my favorite patterns to date.

As a nod to the upcoming July 4th holiday, I decided to go sorta patriotic and make one version in red and another in blue. I also chose a couple of different typefaces since I've had a few requests for more masculine versions of the calendars. ;) Scroll through the options below!

Click the link below the image that you'd like to download. Enjoy!

June 2015 iPhone + Desktop Wallpapers {Citrus}

I hope y'all had great Memorial Day Weekends! We had a blast at my parents' river house doing a whole lot of hammock sitting', boat adventuring, napping, etc. :). So much for all those projects I had planned to take on! There are some times when you've gotta get things done and other times where it's worth it to make yourself do very little. I think my husband and I both needed the down time and this long weekend gave us the exactly what we needed. What did y'all do?

Today I've got a fun, free download for you - June's iPhone and desktop wallpapers! I had a great time putting these citrus-themed wallpapers together. I figured since June is the real start of summer that something like this would be a nice way to celebrate a new season.

You can download both a blank wallpaper and a wallpaper with a calendar (which I find to be super handy!) for your gadgets. Each version comes in two colors: orange and turquoise. Download one or all of them! Enjoy!

Use the links below each photo to download the version you'd like...
