Wall Sconces {Design Ideas For Small Spaces}

Whew! This weekend flew by waaay too fast. SO fast in fact, that I didn't have time to get this post together on Sunday for my usual Monday post day. Oh well! Such is life. Moving on.

Y'all remember this photo of our bedroom from my little post-move-in home tour last week?

And remember that crazy-long to do list I created of things I'd like to do for our house? Well I added something else to it for our master bedroom: change out the floor lamps for wall sconces. Our bedroom measures about 9 feet across and feels pretty tight around the edges, so I've been thinking about ways to make it look and feel more open. Wall sconces seemed like a great way to make that happen, but knew we couldn't hardwire anything since we're renters.

Enter the newest IKEA catalog.

It arrived at our door a couple of weeks ago and as I pored over the pages, I spotted the RANARP wall/clamp spotlight.

I fell in love with it immediately and knew a pair of them would be perfect for our bedroom. They have a gorgeous design (I mean, hello white and brass combo... plus a black and white cord...), look high end and PLUG IN, but are priced at a mere $19.99 each. A steal, I tell you. I had to restrain myself from running out the door right then to go grab two of them. Eventually I did make it to IKEA this past weekend and made the purchase - I can't wait to show them to you, but I haven't quite had time to put them up yet!

In the meantime, I thought I'd show y'all some lovely bedrooms that incorporated wall sconces. There's a little something for everyone in the images below style-wise. I hope to have more updates on my own bedroom soon.  This is real-time decorating, my friends, and sometimes it doesn't happen as quickly as I'd like!

Even though most of these aren't small bedrooms like ours, you can see why wall sconces could be a great idea when you're tight on space. They free up space on bedside tables and can make the room look less visually cluttered while providing the right amount of light.

Do any of you have wall sconces in your bedroom? I'd love to see them if you do!

As we explore the possibilities of physics simulation software, it's essential to consider how these technologies align with the broader goals of improving efficiency, sustainability, and resilience in governmental operations. The potential applications of iot for government extend beyond simulations, encompassing smart cities, connected devices for monitoring, and data-driven governance. This post serves as a reminder of the interdisciplinary nature of technology, spanning from physics simulations to potential applications in government, emphasizing the need for responsible and strategic integration of advanced tools in public administration.
