One of my projects (a top secret one that I couldn't share until NOW!) is in a MAGAZINE. And not just any magazine - All You magazine. This is legit, y'all. Can you tell I'm just a wee bit excited? The feature came out today online and I haven't even received my copy of it yet in the mail, so I can't show you the page itself, but I want to show you the project today. I was planning to show you details about the magazine files in my office today (oh the irony...we're still talkin' magazines today), but that's going to have to wait until next week since this news is hot off the presses!
Back in October, I got an email from All You asking if I'd like to be a part of their "Take This, Make That" series where they ask two bloggers to take an old wine bottle and repurpose it into something awesome for under $5 in three or fewer steps. (I turned my wine bottle into a fun jewelry holder using some paint and a thrifted plate as you can see above.) Then, they put it up on their Facebook page and ask readers to vote on their favorite! Not that I'm asking you to vote for me, but I would LOVE IT if you did. It would totally make my day.

It's such a privilege to be in this magazine beside my friend, Kayla Aimee, whose blog I've been contributing to for the past several months. She's the one who nominated me to be in it with her when another blogger backed out last minute. Thank you, KA! You're awesome. And so is your project. Go see hers on the All You Facebook page too!
I can't wait to see the feature in print (don't worry, I'll be sure to post a photo on my Facebook page - click over to like it so you don't miss out!), but I couldn't wait to share one photo of the project with you today.
Thanks, as always, for reading y'all!
Wow - that is so exciting! Congratulations!! I tried to vote for you, but when I click on your picture on their facebook page, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heidi! I'm pretty psyched! Are you trying to go to it from a mobile device? I found that when I clicked the link from my iPhone that I had the same problem. It seems to work fine from a computer though, so if you're clicking on it from there, I'm not sure why it wouldn't work. Let me know if you keep having issues. Thanks for your vote - I appreciate it! :)

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! I actually saw this article a few days ago and plan on doing it. We painted some wine bottles and used them as centerpieces for our wedding, so I'm gonna use a left over one for this!
